DUCKLINGS

It was a late night for me last night, but what else do you expect when working in a pub, especially when it has been a nice, sunny, Spring day.

But Diego always wants to go out early and now heat it picking up a bit it’s only fair to take him out before the sun gets high.
The route we took was along the lovely canal, where there are beautiful houses with wild flowers growing by the side, I would love to live there (but can’t afford) 😦

What made my day was seeing a mother ‘Mallard’ duck with a bunch of 10 tiny ducklings, I could have watched them all day, but Diego doesn’t have that much patience he wants his breakfast 🍳

DAFFODILS

On the daily, morning stroll with my buddy I couldn’t help but admire.

Daffodils, daffodils everywhere,

I can’t help but stop and stare,

They are so bright,

Day and night,

Spring is here, so let me share.

NEW YEAR, NEW HOBBIES

Happy 2017 everyone. This is where we try new things, half people are giving diets a go, others new studies and new hobbies as well.

Diets never work for me and I do already go to the gym. So to add on top I’ve decided to restart climbing.

It’s great fun, and uses lots of muscles in the body that the average person hardly ever uses.

Also because most of the time you need someone at the other end of the rope, perfect to make new friends.

I’ve been twice in 1 week and can’t wait to go back, hope everyone is enjoying their new start to 2017 🙂

LOADED DECEMBER 🎄

Boxing day and back at work, no big deal really, as I enjoy where I work.

But the week before Christmas was extremely busy, I really feel for Santa’s elves at this time of year, haha turns out I’ve roughly worked 103 hours over 9 days. But it was all worth it.

Had great time with the girls during the day.

And great time in the evenings.

Christmas day was lovely with my family.

All in all I had amazing time bring on 2017 🙂

Hope everyone has had wondering December even if you don’t celebrate Christmas 🎉

FEELS MORE LIKE CHRISTMAS TIME!

I can’t believe that it has already been over 6 months since I got home from a year travelling and working Australia and less than 2 weeks until Christmas.

Last year I kind of skipped Christmas, I wasn’t really feeling  it 😦

  1. The temperature was roughly 35 degrees C
  2. I was spending most of my days off, on a beach!
  3. Most of my family weren’t with me
  4. I had no-one to buy presents for
  5. The sun wasn’t setting until 8pm

I was still enjoying my stay in Sydney with Dan (bf) it was a great experience.

Our journey ended in May and we have both been working really hard to get ready, luckily I like to get presents bought and out of the way and under the tree ASAP.

This means now my head is focused on work only. I have 2 jobs and both are big at Christmas. Being a florist I have been making a lot of wreaths for doors. Crem pots for people who want there family to celebrate in spirit.

I’ve done 1 or 2 table arrangements,  but I know those will be wanted more next week.

Time is going too quick and I can’t wait to dress up while at work in the pub next week 😛 Then spend Christmas with my family 😀

    SOUTHERN VIEWS

    The sun shines,

    The wind blows,

    The sea reflects,

    Time just goes.

    The bees buzz,

    The birds sing,

    The trees wave,

    Time will bring.

    Your heart pumps,

    Your feet walk,

    From what you see,

    You will need to talk.

    The days go quick,

    But the memories stay,

    There’s nothing like,

    A good get away.

    CORNISH GET AWAY

On Saturday Dan (boyfriend) Andy (friend) drove down to Cornwall. We arrived about 7:30pm in the town of Helston. Met up with other friends, lit the fire and had chilled evening.

Today, although short and sweet,  Dan and I had nice stroll down to the beach after a lie in on this Sunday morning.

Then the sun disappeared and the clouds went grey and the rain began to fall 😦

We didn’t get too wet, it still wasn’t pleasant.
Tomorrow is supposed to be better

    JUST GIVE IT TIME!!

Hi everyone, if you read my last rant then this 1 will make sense, my family dog ‘Diego’ had a nasty accident on Sunday. After all tests he came home on Tuesday evening.

Wednesday morning, after my bro had slept with him downstairs, I had to be Nurse Sam, keep an eye on him, take note of what he does and when he does it eg. ate at 7:30am.

He seemed a lot brighter already and less stressed but he was being extremely fussy when we tried to give him his medication, my mum tried mixing with fish (he loves fish) like the night before, but he wasn’t that foolish. I then tried sausage (nope, not having it). I needed help, number of friends gave ideas and the one that surprisingly worked was to mix in with a bit of jam.

But after that, Degs realised he had been tricked and shut me out for 1 hour. 😛

Considering he has to have his meds 3 times a day the jam trick works every time.

Now it’s Thursday we can tell he wants to do things he can’t and is not eating much but he seems much better than the beginning of the week, he has check up in few days and I’m sure he will be fine.

It’s just going to take time and rest.

    FEARS OF OUR FAVOURITES

Now most people know horrible it is when family and friends are either extremely ill or bad accidents, and the tend to happen the ones that least deserve.

My dear friend and pet (Diego) had a nasty accident on Sunday by innocently slipping on wet grass from running on his daily walk.

He couldn’t move, it was horrible, my family and I all help to securely lie him flat and take to the vets fearing the worst of a damaged spine.

He stayed 2 nights on a drip, no change, had an x-ray (luckily no bad damage). My family and I were fearing the worst, I’ve cried twice at work this week and it isn’t even Wednesday.

Anyway good thing is he came home this evening (very drowsy). As soon as we had fish for tea he looked at us as if ‘where’s mine’ (fish is his favourite). Gobbled it up.
So far we think he’s getting better but just need to give him time to heal.

I really don’t understand how this happen and truly hope he makes a full recovery.

Thanks for reading, I just needed to get the thoughts off my chest.

    AUTUMN CHANGE

    AUTUMN IS NOW HERE,

CLOCKS CHANGE IN LESS THAN A WEEK,

    IT’S ALREADY DARK BY 7PM

AND I FEEL THE CHILL IN MY CHEEKS.

SUN ONLY HALF WAY BY 8:30AM,

BUT WHAT LOVELY VIEWS I WILL SEE,

BY NOW THOUGHT I THE TREES WOULD BE ORANGE,

THEN REALISE MORE THAN HALF ARE EVERGREENS 🙂

    TEMPERATURE HAS FALLEN QUICKLY,

BUT THE BIRDS STILL SING OUT LOUD,

THE BERRIES ARE ALMOST READY TO BE EATEN,

MOVING BACK TO CHILLY BRITAIN MAKES ME FEEL PROUD 😛

    Sam 🙂
